SMS campaigns are an increasingly popular marketing tool for influencing a broad range of consumers through SMS messages delivered to their mobile phone. The main advantage of using this type of promotion is that you can easily and effectively target a specific category of consumers.

SMS Campaigns
UNITY Mobile currently offers the following types of SMS campaigns:
- Information Campaign – The most common campaign, this is a one-way delivery of an SMS – the recipient is not required to respond. It is ideal for distributing news, discounts on products or services, and special offers or for informing consumers about your organization, your Website address, etc. The beginning of the campaign can be scheduled, and recipients can be grouped according to parameters such as gender, age, or location.
- Competition with Voting – This campaign requires interaction with the recipient of the SMS. This interaction is usually driven by your promotional message, which explains the rules of a competition and urges the recipient to respond to the SMS by sending the specific keyword corresponding to their vote to the short code number (long code can be applied as well). All received messages are processed during the competition, and winners are drawn based on the rules of the competition (e.g., each 5th SMS wins). A reply is sent when an SMS is received with an incorrect response. And all interactions are saved, including the MSISDNs (phone numbers) of all participants, so these can be used for another campaign.
- Competition with Polling – The principle is similar to the Competition with Voting campaign, except that the answer choices are not provided to the recipient. Polling is based on receiving guesses from participants (e.g., how many tennis balls fit in car). All received SMSs are analyzed, and a reply is sent either thanking the participant for their answer or informing them that their response is in an incorrect format. All interactions are stored, and participants’ MSISDNs (phone numbers) can be used for another campaign.
- Subscription for a Service – This campaign enables consumers to subscribe to a desired service (news, sports results, etc.) by sending an SMS containing the specified keyword. This campaign type is typically supported by another media campaign. The subscribers can be rewarded with membership benefits such as discounts on products or services, a printed magazine, etc.
